All is Well

This is my response to the post:

I need to focus on the floor.

Five more steps and I’ll reach my bed, I can’t be distracted by anything.

I knew I shouldn’t have watched a horror film before bedtime.

Don’t imagine anything, focus girl, focus.

All is well, no monsters under my bed or a pretty banged up lady on white gazing at my window, not even a malevolent black smoke swirling in my room.

All is well, eyes on the floor: three, two, last step and I jumped face first on my bed.

A Newbie’s WordPress Problem

I started this WordPress blog last March 12 (of this year – 2016), so obviously I’m still a beginner, amateur, baby, a newbie in terms of blogging and making use of WordPress. I’m not into too much technicalities but maybe a little info to beautify(is there such a word?) my posts.

I mean, I browse posts and blogs and can’t help but notice how bland my posts are. At least putting pictures are just a click away.

So, here are some mysteries I haven’t solved yet:

1. How Oh how do I change the color of texts in my blog? I’ve seen others with red, blue, green and even PINK. I’m generally a bubbly, colorful person, so my black and white posts are meh.Β DONE!πŸ’œ

2. Why is it that even though my post has a picture, when I go to my site, the preview of my post doesn’t have one?

3. How to change text size? DONE!πŸ’œ

4. How to align the texts “center” when needed?Β DONE!πŸ’œ

5. Did you see the menu thing on my page and then when you click it, it shows the “Call Me Angie” link to my other social media accounts? It’s funny. How do I improve that?

6. My profile picture is still the gray person default. Please. How? πŸ™ DONE! Did you see my pic?πŸ’œ

That’s it for now. I’ll add up in here the mysteries I’ll encounter along my journey here in WordPress. Anyone in there who’s nice enough to help? I’ll totally appreciate it. I love you all.πŸ’œ

T5W | Least Favorite Book in Your Favorite Series

Top Five Wednesday is a tag originating on youtube (booktube), created by Lainey of gingerreadslainey.

It’s top 5 Wednesday again and the topic is Least Favorite Book in Your Favorite Series.

I do have a lot ofΒ  series I’m currently into but I don’t like cliff hangers so I tend to read series with a sense of ending per book.

Here’s my list of series (actually I just really want to promote them) and my least favorite book for each:

1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
–> On this wizarding world that started my love on reading, I just love all the books. My least favorite among the 7 books is:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

… it was well written, as always. It’s my least favorite because of the mood of the book and some pesky character namely Umbridge that makes me soooo mad. But still, I love this book.

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
–> I had a huge book hangover after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that I thought I won’t be reading any series in like…forever. Then came Percy, yay! The writing is amazing, funny and the details are very good. Well established world, jargons and characters. I really love it! Choosing among the five, I think my least favorite would be:

The Battle of the Labyrinth

this is because of Rachel’s(did I spell it right?) existence. I totally ship Percabeth so when this seemingly human wants to join in, I justΒ  want to kick her out of the book. Also, Nico is in a kind of a rebel mood.

3. Fantasyland Series by Kristen Ashley
–> This is a good series about a parallel universe. The blurb attracted me because it’s interesting. Sleeping on your bed last night then suddenly waking up in a parallel universe where the people knows you as someone else. Usually your twin (your doppelganger on that other world) is a bad person and the lead girl ends up in a lot of trouble. The world building is good.

It has a lot of mature contentS so if you’re too young or not interested, DON’T.

My least favorite among the 4 (it’s an ongoing series) would be:

The Broken Dove

… only because the people from the other world already knows that she is not her twin. Her twin died. But a lot of things happened that compensated on the lost of that mystery.

4. The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward
–> There was a time I was addicted to reading stories about vampires and I came across this series. World building is amazing, I feel like I was transported on the book and into the world where the Brotherhood is fighting the Lessening Society to preserve their race.

Each warrior is unique and also with issues that they’ll try to resolve. The story is a bit complicated to what I’m used to. Among the 11 I’ve read so far, my least favorite is:

Lover Enshrined

… because Phury suddenly became the bad brother. I just feel bad on some scenes and I didn’t like Phury that much.

*It’s also a series for mature audiences only.

5. Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
–> Twilight is the first ever Vampire-Human-Love kind of book I’ve ever read. I finished the whole series and even read Midnight Sun and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. I have complicated feelings throughout this series. My least favorite among the 4 would be:

New Moon

…why? Because Edward left, then Bella became a bit of a psycho and then wolf boy Jacob suddenly became her Sun. I just hate love triangles, and I’ve been team Edward forever.

So that’s my top 5 Wednesday for this week. What’s yours? πŸ’œ

The TBR Book Tag

I was tagged by Raven and BeezΒ  from: ravenandbeez to do the TBR (To Be Read) Book Tag. Go and check out their amazing blog! πŸ‘

1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Is it primitive to say that I jot them down on my notebook? I’ve been meaning to create a goodreads account, it always slips my mind.

2. Is your TBR mostly print or eBook?
Mostly eBook because I don’t have that much money and they’re cheaper.

3. A book that has been on your TBR pile the longest

I added These Broken Stars on my TBR last March 23, 2015 and it’s still there.

4. A book you recently added to your TBR pile

Looks cool and seems promising.

5. A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover

Amazing cover..  ❀

6. A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading
Hmmm… This is hard, but at the moment I think it would be Soundless (#5 answer). I really added the book because of the cover, the blurb doesn’t seem to be promising nor interesting for me.

7. An unpublished book on your TBR that you are excited for
This would be the 5th installment of the Fantasyland Series by Kristen Ashley, hopefully not the last one. I think it has no title yet, but it would be about the Noctorno of this world, Noc. I’m so excited about this! It’s different from the first four books (supposedly) because the setting would be the normal world.

8. A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you
I love fictional/fantasy reads and I’ve heard a lot of good reviews on A Darker Shade of Magic. It’s on my TBR but since it’s too hyped up I’m a bit uncertain to read it.

9. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you
There are a lot but since I’m in a multiverse/parallel universe kind of mood. I will mention A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray.

10. A book on your TBR that you are dying to read
It would be the Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare. I’m dying to read them but I still need to finish The Mortal Instruments which is kind of on my DNF list at the moment.

Now I’m tagging:

The Other Normals – Book Review

*Note:Β  spoilers ahead.*

Title: The Other Normals
Author: Ned Vizzini

I just finished reading this book. I was honestly on a reading slump, and reading this book is an attempt to stop said slump.

The blurb says that the story is about a boy, Peregrine “Perry” Eckert, addicted to some RPG (Role Playing Game) and ends up using game-related skills/info when he suddenly ends up in another world/multiverse.

This made me interested on the book because I’m also reading a manhwa where the lead role suddenly woke up with a gamer ability, converting the world on a game-like perspective.

This is a line from the book that made me teary eyed (I don’t know why):

Even if no one knows what I’ve done, they can’t take away that I’ve done it.

When I’m halfway on the book, I realized that this book is different from the manhwa I’m reading. No stats, skills and RPG like world. I think that the RPG the book is talking about is different from the RPG that I know or expected when I decided to read this book.

I was tempted to drop the book or just jump to the end (a bad habit of mine) but I persevered.

It wasn’t that bad, at some point it reminded me of Percy Jackson on his first time at camp. The other world wasn’t explained that much, and the epic battle at the end was okay. But the main antagonists, beaten just like that was meh. And where’s Sam (the bff of Perry)? I tend to focus on unnecessary details, my bad.

It’s an okay book but not spectacular. I’ll give the book 6/10

Good news is, I was able to finish a book, therefore I’M BACK! ❀

Nobody Knows

I’m currently listening to the song:

—Nobody Knows by Pink—🎢

The line from this song that really struck me is the line:

Nobody likes to loose their inner voice, the one I used to hear before my life made a choice.

My playlist is random and because I’m kinda lazy I just put all my songs in one folder and just turn shuffle on.

It’s a sad song but if someone will sing the chorus part to me, I’ll be glad. The line strucks me because my life is a testament that sometimes I really just can’t control my life. Sometimes, things just happens. Life goes on and… yep, things just roll or something.

Maybe, WHEN I’m in the mood I’ll write a short story, essay, blurb or prompt from a song I’m currently listening. πŸ™‚
