What I Should Do To Stop Adding Books On My TBR

It’s Wednesday and I haven’t read a single book. Yep. So what am I doing that I haven’t read a thing?

✳ADDING BOOKS ON MY TBR✳

That my friends is my problem. I just can’t stop…😭

This is sooo not productive. *sigh*

Ever heard “too many books, so little time” ? That’s exactly how I feel. I can think of a few that I should be doing to stop this “want-to-read-everything” stage that I’m currently in. These are the things I should be doing to stop:

1. ) Stop scanning post with #tbr #bookhaul #youngadult #books #bookreviews on WordPress.

2.) Look at all those books on your shelf. Keep on reciting thy mantra: ‘I want to read!’🙏

3.) WordPress, Tumblr, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest are currently my enemies.

4.) The most effective but the hardest one: TURN OFF THE WI-FI!👊

Yes, these seem effective but my self would just…

I’m trying .gif images on my blog for the first time. They’re cute. 👍

Do you have the same problem as mine? Feel free to comment.😁

  1. Hahaha. I can relate to this. I haven’t read all day because of work and then I went home and thought about checking WWW posts. Now it’s an hour later and I am adding books and replying to posts instead of reading. It’s a never ending problem. I want to read and I need to in order to come up with nice stuff for my blog, but WordPress’ nice voice calls me regularly to share my book love and chat. I don’t feel guilty because it’s still book related but I am sure I could read at least one more book by week if I turned off the wifi. But I know I won’t. I have no willpower. So my TBR and to-buy list are growing and I am watching them, feeding them, and enjoying my tea with such nice posts 😀

  2. Haha! This is hilarious. Turn off your Wi-Fi? I would never have the willpower to do that. I’m addicted to technology. My TBR is out of control. There’s no way I’ll read even a fraction of them this year. I set my Goodreads goal to 100 books this year, and I think I’m over 60, and I’m still nowhere near my goal. Too much to read. 😝 Is there even such a thing? Nice post!

      • I’m such a slacker lately. I write more posts than I’ve been reading. Some book blogger I am, huh? I need to move the laptop and start reading. My tech is literally attached to me at all times. It’s a serious problem. 🙂 I’m typing on my laptop with my phone to my left and my iPad to my right. Haha!

      • And I have the TV on, too. I guess that counts as another gadget. 🙂 I just opened the iPad, thinking maybe I should read something, but I’m undecided. I thought about reading Red Rising since I’m up to chapter three, but it was moving at a snail’s pace. Then, I considered The Raven Boys, but if everything I’ve heard about the books is true, I will not sleep at all tonight, and it’s already past 1 am here. I have so many books on my Kindle it’s ridiculous. And I want to buy more. I just got a ton of Amazon gift cards for my birthday, and I really want to go on a shopping spree. I don’t want to read them though, just look at their pretty covers on the screen. Haha! 🙂

      • Red Rising and The Raven Boys are on my TBR too. But because of the hype, they might stay on my TBR pile for a while. Lol.😀

        Gift cards are ❤.

        1 am? It’s 1:30PM here. 😮

It’s amazing that we can still interact despite the time difference..😺 (can you see my cat emojis or any of my emojis at all?)

      • I always forget how much of a time difference there is between us. My friend’s family is from Manila, and when she went in the spring, we didn’t talk for weeks because of the time change. I was so jealous though because she got to swim with clown fish. I love Nemo’s. : ) Yes, I can see all of your emojis. The only thing we had trouble with was following each other on Twitter. That was weird. I never saw that error before. It’s so cool that we can still talk with such a difference in time. That’s my favorite part of blogging. I almost thought about breaking out The Deal just to get me out of my reading funk. I’m so obsessed. I need another book like it so I can read it in three hours and need another one right after. Haha!

      • I don’t feel the time difference that much.. But I ALWAYS forget about it. Lol.

Anyways, I tried a lot of times to click that follow button on Twitter and still… Error following user… 😿

When are they going to produce a story like The Deal? I’ve seen Pucked (I think) and it has good reviews. I also read Alex by Sawyer Bennett and it’s also about hockey. It’s good but not like The Deal..

I’m trying not to have a re-read moment this week.. 😽

      • What’s up with that? Twitter is such a pain sometimes. I’m allowed to follow you but not the other way around. That’s so strange. Pucked is another book I’ve seen all over the place. Thanks for reminding me. I think that will be my next purchase. 🙂

      • It happened twice already. I was trying to follow someone (can’t remember who) and it showed the same error thingy.

That book seems promising. Maybe it will be a great book…

Fantasy or YA or NA? That’s my question for myself today. Before this day ends, I’ll start a NEW book. No re-read.👊

        Liked by 1 person

      • Hmm… Depends. NA could be a lot of unnecessary sex scenes where a YA might be more action packed. If you have The Raven Boys, my vote is for that book. I was about to read it. If you decide to read it, we can buddy read and gab over how much we love it together. 🙂 No re-reads, girl. Stick to new books. You know, those pretty things on your shelf that want you to open them. Haha!

      • Yeee! I’ve never done a buddy read.. EXCITING!😁

You haven’t read it too, right? I’ll tell you or message you anyhow when I’m about to start that book. If you haven’t read it yet at that time. We can buddy read..😍

        No re-reads. I can do this.✋

        Like

      • Yes, you can do this. Deep breath in and out. Then open a new book. Ahh, much better. Haha! Yeah, we should buddy read this one. A lot of bloggers do that. Then we can chat about it. Are you on Goodreads? I can’t remember if we’re friends on there or not, but we can message and share our status updates about the book on there.

      • I don’t have a Gooreads account… Yep, primitive me jots down her TBR or rely on her sometimes reliable memory to cough out books.

I’ve been meaning to create one. I heard it’s a great site… I just kept on forgetting to create one..

      • What??? A book blogger without a Goodreads account. Girl, we need to get you one. It’s like my lifeline at this point. I can’t remember what I ate for breakfast, let alone what books I want to read. When you set one up, let me know. My username is Jillian Quinn on Goodreads.

      • This is the first time I’ve seen this meme, and it’s so awesome. How perfect for our current situations? I need to bookmark this one. I just followed the blog. It doesn’t look like there’s a set day when we need to do the meme. Right?

  3. I have more than 1000 books in my TBR list. I will never read them all. I have trouble reading 25 in a year. But I just go for what I like the most and read those. I could read 100 books in a year if I dedicated the time, but I end up reading only 30 minutes a day.
