Wallbanger – Book Review

Title: Wallbanger
Author: Alice Clayton
Series: #1 of Cocktail

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is my second Alice Clayton book. I was a bit wary on reading this because the first one (The Unidentified Redhead) wasn’t that great, for me. It was okay but I didn’t continue onto that series(trilogy?).

Anyway, I have read a lot of good reviews on this and about Clive the cat so I’m curious enough that it made me read this.🙋

This is a story between Simon and Caroline. The names doesn’t seem to fit on the characters for me but I was hooked by the story line and the side characters. I love the progress from hate to truce, to friends, to more than friends to wooing and finally in a relationship. ❤

It was a slow burn, this book. The internal dialogues of Caroline was a bit distracting, but still made me laugh.😁

The romance was cute and also hot!💜

But my favorite character is Clive, haha.😁 That cat has a POV, lol. I love him.😻 He’s a spy. Haha.😂

I love this story!😘

Stormbreaker – Book Review

Title: Stormbreaker
Author: Anthony Horowitz
Series: #1 of Alex Rider

image

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟.5

What prompted me to read this is the movie, actually it’s Alex Pettyfer, haha.😍

I’m curious as to how the book was in comparison to the movie, so here goes.❤

Alex Rider is a normal fourteen year old British kid. That is, until his uncle died and a lot of secrets spilled over. One day he’s going to school and in a blink he’s training with men, jumping off a parachute and diving under water. When the lives of many people is in your hands and you’re barely a fledgeling, how will you make it through?

I have mix feelings about this. I love the plot. It was sooo action packed, I felt Alex’s struggles all through out. I was leaning on giving it 4 stars but I feel like the pacing is too fast for me. It was more plot-centered than what I was expecting.

I wish it were longer, can’t believe I said that. Lol.😁 But I enjoyed this book and wasn’t able to put it down until I finished it. Hopefully on the next book, Alex’s character will be fleshed out for us to know who Alex is apart from being a spy. I will obviously continue with this series.👍

Dark Sword #1, #2 & #3 – Book Reviews

Title: Dangerous Highlander
Author: Donna Grant
Series: #1 of Dark Sword

image

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I’m trying to read something other than paranormal. And I ended up starting this series. I think it’s also on the paranormal side and a bit of fantasy with a historical setting.

This is my first read from Donna Grant. It was an engaging read. Surprisingly okay and I was hooked.❤

I love the MacLeod Brothers.😸 The history of the Druids were clear and I love how the characters are well established. I love it and will surely continue with the second book.👍

Title: Forbidden Highlander
Author: Donna Grant
Series: #2 of Dark Sword

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the story of the eldest among the MacLeod brothers, Fallon. This seems shorter than the first novel. I’m not sure why but it lacked the “we’re at war” kind of feeling or tone on it. I still enjoyed it though. I’m having a hard time keeping up with the names of the new addendum on the team, lol.😁

I just want Quinn (youngest among the brothers) to be rescued and let him have his HEA already and why can’t Deirdre die already. She needs to die ASAP. Haha.😸

Title: Wicked Highlander
Author: Donna Grant
Series: #3 of Dark Sword

image

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is Quinn’s story, the youngest of the MacLeod Brothers. I’ve been waiting for this.❤

Finally Deirdre was beheaded. And totally dead. But I have my doubt that it’s all just a product of black magic. What if she’s still alive?

Not sure if I’ll continue on the fourth book. I mean the MacLeod Brothers already have their HEA, so I don’t know if I want to read about the other warriors’ stories.

Smut – Book Review

Title: Smut
Author: Karina Halle
Series: Stand Alone

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

That title kept me from reading this but still, I have a copy😁 I’ve read so many reviews saying this isn’t about the title, that it’s sweet and cute and a lot of positive comments and so finally, I decided to read it.😸

Harry Potter references and all book references, love it!👍

Super plus that it discussed the life of being a writer, the struggles, dilemmas… This book is dear to me because it made me remember my dream of one day having a published book of my own.🙋

Cute, sweet and definitely HOT. I want my own Blake!💜

I love Blake and Amanda’s story. I don’t want to spoil anyone, all I can say is get your copy NOW and read this!🙌

Phantom Shadows – Book Review

Title: Phantom Shadows
Author: Dianne Duvall
Series: #3 of Immortal Guardians

image

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was hesitant to start the third book on the Immortal Guardians series. One reason is that I’m not too fond of the lead guy.

There’s a lot of negative vibes on this book, lol. The black sheep of the Immortal Guardians family, Sebastien is not trying at all to be accepted by his newly found family. Only Dr. Melanie Lipton seems to see beyond his facade.

With the increasing number of deranged vampires, covert mercenaries and unneeded hostility, everything seems to be going wrong.

A lot of new characters were introduced. The French immortals are a bit prominent on this book.. I did enjoy this book, I just felt that the story seems to be going on a lot of directions, lol.😁

Will I read the next book? Definitely.😸👍

Night Reigns – Book Review

Title: Night Reigns
Author: Dianne Duvall
Series: #2 of Immortal Guardians

image

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

On the second book of the Immortal Guardians, it’s Marcus’ story! Yay! I love him on Darkness Dawns.❤

Then, his partner, which I won’t tell who, to hide her identity, is someone I was rooting for someone else. I was a bit bummed when I knew of the pairing…😮

But then, the pair grew on me and they really clicked. Love it.❤

This second book is more intense and action-packed.👍

I gave it a lower rating than the first book (0.5 difference, lol) because even though it was great, I think it’s more of a “setting-up” book for the succeeding ones in the series.

I’m enjoying this series and getting addicted to Dianne Duvall’s writing. Can’t wait to read the next one.😁💜

A Sorceress Of His Own – Book Review

Title: A Sorceress Of His Own
Author: Dianne Duvall
Series: #1 of The Gifted Ones

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wow. This book is really amazing…❤ I love it!👍 And the time period and royalty aspects and paranormal flavor is well blended..😻

It is of the olden times when royalty is the reigning force in the society. There’s war and add magic, you have an amazing setting…

Our lead guy, Sir Dillion is a fierce warrior known for his fearsome skill in battle along with him having a sorceress aiding him.

It was halfway in the story that I realized that some of the characters here are in Darkness Dawns.😮 I was so thrilled but I was a bit ashamed to not remember that this book was written by the same author as Darkness Dawns.

I love the action, the mystery, the intrigue and the sweet romance.😍

I’m in a mood for a paranormal-ish books because of these books that was written by Dianne Duvall, my new favorite author.💜👍
