Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag (2016)

I’ve been seeing this tag since the start of July. I wasn’t tagged to do this but it really looks fun. So, I’m tagging myself.😛

❤BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ YET IN 2016❤

image

image

image

I’ve read a lot of good books this year (so far), so I’m giving you my recent 5🌟 reads.

❤BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2016❤

image

Dean is 💜.😁

❤NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET BUT WANT TO❤

image

This is the 11th book in the Scanguards Vampires series. Finally, Blake’s story.😸

❤MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR❤

image

image

Can’t wait…😍

❤BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT❤

image

I was really excited when I read the blurb of this book but then…👎💔

❤BIGGEST SURPRISE❤

image

image

I didn’t expect to like The Iron Trial, I honestly thought it will be a meh because Harry Potter is my standard for magic schools. I was burned on The Magicians. The Iron Trial is different with the wizarding world because of elemental magic.👍

Idol is sooo good. I have no words. I didn’t expect to love it sooo much.😍💜

❤FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR❤

image

Marissa Meyer is my new author to watch for.😁

❤NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH & NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER❤

image

image

Killian from Idol is my super recent fictional crush and favorite character.😍 But I can’t just set aside my Off-Campus boyfriends: Garrett (did I spell it right?), Logan and Dean.😍
*I combined newest fictional crush and favorite characters because I only have one set of answers, but on the tag they are supposed to be separate.*

❤BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY❤

image

Unrequited love really tugs at my heart strings and tear ducts.😭

❤BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY❤

image

image

Both of these books are hilarious, they surely made me happy.😁 And the story inside are awesome!👍

❤FAVORITE BOOK TO FILM ADAPTATION❤

Sadly, I haven’t seen a book to film adaptation this year (yet?).😿

❤FAVORITE POST YOU HAVE DONE THIS YEAR❤

I love lists and I love doing Top Ten Tuesday and Top Five Wednesday posts. All of those posts, I had fun doing.😻

❤MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR❤

image

I haven’t read this book yet. But that cover is adorbs.😍💜

❤WHAT BOOKS YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THIS YEAR❤

image

image

image

image

image

These are at the top of my TBR, especially the completion of the Lunar Chronicles and Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus series.🙋

Ben & Jerry’s Book Tag

It’s Saturday and it’s raining. I’m cuddling with a pillow and lazily browsing all the blog posts I can find. Then I decided to answer a tag. 😘

I scanned my ‘Call Me Angie’ page and saw that Nickvreys @ The Paper Dragon tagged me last April4(✌) on the post We All Scream | Ben & Jerry’s Book Tag. Thank you sooo much for the tag and sorry for the late answers.🙏

Check out Nickvreys blog and you’ll see a lot of interesting posts.😁👍

It looks fun and the flavors are yummy, so here goes:

1. Vanilla Caramel Fudge: Pick a light, fluffy contemporary

image

I’m not into contemporary that much but I really liked this book. Sweet and fluffy? Check.👍

2. Mint Chocolate Cookie: A new release that you wish everybody would read

image

I know this isn’t really new. But I wish a lot more people will read this. It really is great and hilarious!😹👍

3. Cherry Garcia: An ending that was bittersweet

image

I don’t want to spoil anyone, just saying that I love this book and the ending gave me a bittersweet feeling.😿

4. Strawberry Shortcake: A Book containing your OTP of OTP’s

image

This is a hard question. But I settled for Circe and Lahn. I loooove them to bits!😍 Don’t be fooled by the simplistic cover (the recent cover change was a mere upgrade) because the world inside is sooo amazing, hot, fantastical and magical. 😍💜

5. Milk and Cookies: Two authors that if they collaborated, they would go perfectly together

image

I think I’m not answering this question right but I can’t think of two authors (at the moment) that will be amazing when they join forces. So, I’m answering with a book collaboration that was sooo amazing. 😁

6. Boston Cream Pie: A book that had you turning the page late into the night

image

image

image

I can think of three books that made me stay up late at night (year 2016). The Deal, The Ugly Stepsister and Gone are some of my highly rated books this year. I just noticed that their cover has blue as a theme, lol.😛

7. Chocolate Therapy: A book that makes you feel better after a long day of life

image

image

Percy Jackson and Harry Potter are my comfort buddies. Along with Hermione, Ron, Luna, Annabeth and Grover. The friendship and humor within this book relaxes me like no other.🙌

8. Coffee, coffee, buzzbuzzbuzz: A book not yet released, you can’t wait to get your hands on

CAN’T WAIT! OMG! GIVE THEM ALL TO ME! NOW!😍😍😍

This or That Tag

Thank you Jill @ rantandraveaboutbooks for tagging me. I love book tags. ❤

——The Rules——

Mention the creator of the tag (Ayunda @ Tea and Paperbacks).

1. Thank the blogger who tagged you!

2. Choose one of the options—you don’t have to explain the reason for your choice, but you can admit to it, if you want to.

3. To spread the love, tag 10 other people to do this tag.

THIS OR THAT:

#1. Reading on the couch or on the bed?
– definitely bed. More comfortable and a lot of possible ways to read.

#2. Male main character or female main character?
– majority of the books I’ve read and piled up on my TBR are females. It’s not like I favor female leads, it happens that stories with amazing blurbs feature female leads. But I love male leads too, Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are examples of male leads that I love. I can’t choose, lol. It’s intriguing to look into a male’s perspective, right fellow ladies?😁

#3. Sweet snacks or salty snacks when reading?
– I can’t handle any kind of distraction while reading. I need a quiet, empty place to dive into books. Sometimes, I can read with music playing on the background but it’s difficult. I never read and ate in between. I’m a bit OCD, I don’t want dirt smearing my book or reader. Peace.✌

#4. Trilogies or quartets?
– it doesn’t matter. As long as the series interests me and keeps me connected to that world, we’re good.

#5. First person point of view or third person point of view?
– third person point of view aren’t that bad (Harry Potter, I think) and majority of the books I’ve read is on first person point of view and they’re good too. I guess it depends on the writer/author.

#6. Reading at night or in the morning?
– if I can read all day, I would. No specific time.❤

#7. Libraries or bookstores?
– bookstores! That feeling when you enter a jam-packed bookstore.. So invigorating. All the books up for buys.

#8. Books that make you laugh or make you cry?
– I prefer books that makes me laugh.. It’s more enjoyable for me if the characters are funny and the plot is hilarious. Though I’ve read books under different genre(except horror), I prefer light reads..

#9. Black book covers or white book covers?
Uh, neither. Black covers seem mysterious/dark and white covers look clean. It’s the content that counts. Pink covers catch my attention like fireworks in the sky.💜

#10. Character driven or plot driven stories?
– both or if not possible, at least a balance of the two.

Life in Books Tag

Thank you Nickvreys for tagging me on your Life in Books Tag post❤

I love tags and I have a lot of response posts to do. Sorry for the late responseS. Sometimes I’m lazy.lol. Now I’m in the mood to answer tags.

⭐Find a book for each of your initials.
– my initials is AM.

Angie

image

– this book is still on my TBR. Someday, I’ll be able to read this.

M.

image

– this one is on my DNF pile. Someday, somehow, I’ll be able to finish this.

⭐Count your age along your bookshelf. Which book is it?

image

– I’ve finish this book. But not sure if I’ll continue reading the whole series.

⭐Pick a book that represent a destination you would love to travel to.

image

– I would totally love to live in this world.❤

⭐Pick a book that’s your favorite colour.

image

– I love pink! Among the three, I’ve only read The Princess Diaries. Fashionably Late and Princess for Hire looks cute and the cover? Wow.❤

⭐Which book do you have the fondest memories of?

image

– this book started my love for reading. I just love Harry Potter.😁

⭐Which book did you have the most difficulty in reading?

image

– I have a lot of books that I have difficulty in reading and majority of those books ended up on my DNF pile. I have high expectations on The Magicians before I read the book. I managed to finish it but it was really hard. I just… *sigh*

⭐Which  book on your TBR pile will give you the biggest sense of accomplishment when you finish it?

image

– the first book on this series ended up as a DNF. IF I managed to finish this whole series, I might be able to start The Infernal Devices. It would be a huge feat if I’ll be able to finish them.

So, that’s it! If you also want to do this tag, feel free. I’m tagging ALL OF YOU. Enjoy!😁

The Disney Book Tag

I saw this interesting post by The Girl in Boots and decided to do it too.. 🙂

Let’s go!

1. The Little Mermaid – a character who is out of their element, a “fish out of water”

image

image from Google

–> my answer on this would be Circe from Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland#2). Waking up on a different world, wearing a skimpy clothing about to be hunted on a barbaric Wife Hunt and everyone speaking in Korwhak not English. Poor Circe, I totally pity her on the earlier part of the book.

2. Cinderella – a character who goes through a major transformation

image

image from google

–> Bella Swan. From human to vampire. From a klutz to an overwhelming shield.

3. Snow White – a book with an eclectic cast of characters

image

image from Google

–> The cast of characters in the Percy Jackson world are a mix of everything. They totally embody ‘eclectic’. They have demigods, satyrs, Greek gods and monsters, how much more eclectic could it be?

4. Sleeping Beauty – a book that put you to sleeep

image

image from Google

–> Ender’s Game. I only liked the latter part of this book. I don’t know how I finished it. I didn’t understand the earlier parts, jargons being used without explanation. I even double checked and confirmed that I’m reading the first book on a series.

5. The Lion King – a character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood

image

image from Google

–> Annabeth from Percy Jackson and the Olympians was abandoned by her mother Athena because that’s how it usually is. Then became an outcast in her own home when her father remarried. She escaped from home and barely survived monsters with the help of some friends.

6. Beauty and the Beast – a beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful

image

image from Google

–> Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a big book but totally worth it. It was long (on my standard) and I was proud of myself that I finished it, but really who wouldn’t?

7. Aladdin – a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse

image

image from Google

–> Draco Malfoy. Wishing to be one of the so called ‘big boys’ and ended up biting more than he can chew. He became one of the Death Eaters, his mission? Kill the all powerful Albus Dumbledore.

8. Mulan – a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not

image

image from Google

–> Severus Snape. I really love this character. He’s been pretending on the majority of the book series then turns out he’s the HERO!

9. Toy Story – a book with characters you wish would come to life

image

image from Google

–> Obvious answer: Harry Potter. I would love to meet the Golden Trio and Luna. 💜

10. Disney Descendants – your favorite villain or morally ambiguous character

image

image from Google

–> Zsadist of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. He’s savage. A bit unhinged but he’s cool for me. Especially when he ended up with Bella.

I guess that’s it. I didn’t expect to have a hard time answering but I did. Did you notice how I ended up answering Harry Potter books and characters? I’m a total fan, so.😁

I’m tagging YOU! Yep, the one reading this now. If you’re up to it, share me your link. Enjoy.💜
