May 2021 TBR

Hello friends! Hello May!Β πŸ€—

Wow. Without me noticing, it’s now the 5th month of the year. Like how crazy is that, right?

Recently I realized that I have too many unread eARCs on my kindle. It is all on me because whenever I finish one eARC, I add 3+ eARCs after. Like for some crazy reason, I’m rewarding myself after reading only one book.πŸ˜…

May already started and I have finished some books and currently reading some. Below are my updates and my tbr for May. I might dedicate this month for my unread eARCs.

I’m reading this slowly, no rush. (NetGalley ARC)

This one is a bit heavy though it’s scifi. (NetGalley ARC)

I’m in the mood for mystery recently.

I’m not liking the mc but we’ll see.

Books I wish to read this month:Β 2

This is one of my backlist NetGalley ARC.

Another backlist NetGalley ARC.

Hopefully I’ll be able to read lots of books this month.πŸ˜ƒ

April 2021 Monthly Wrap Up

Wow, April is done again and I feel like the month just passed by in a blink of an eye.πŸ‘€

April was a slow month for me in terms of reading. This month I only managed to finish 3 books.😢

Below are the books I have read:

1.) Strongly Pampered Male Wife by θ΅€θ„šδΈ‹ηš„θ·― – 🌟🌟🌟.5

2.) I Am Not Thirteen by A.O. Monk – 🌟🌟

3.) The Swedish Prince by Karina Halle – 🌟🌟🌟🌟

There are lots of stuff that distracted me from reading this month. I’ll mention a few (my excuse for just reading 3 books✌) things that occupied my time.πŸ˜…

1.) Netflix – this black hole is the major culprit for my measly progress on my reading. Though watching series is a way for my mother and I to bond so I really can’t dislike it.

For this month, we finished 2 series. Yep, TWO.πŸ˜… Both of these deals with afterlife and ghosts.πŸ‘

πŸ“Ί Abyss – 7/10 🌟

πŸ“Ί Hotel Del Luna – 8/10🌟

2.) Legend of the Phoenix game – I spend a lot of time playing this. I can’t believe I’m trying to maintain 4 accounts on this game.πŸ˜†

So this is what happened in April. Hopefully I’ll accomplish more on May.πŸ€—

Jan – Mar 2021 Monthly Wrap Up

Hi friends! πŸ€—

As you can see on the title, this post is all about my reading updates for the month of January to March. Why am I doing an update for three months in one post? Because yours truly doesn’t have much time recently to do an individual monthly update.😒

I thought 2021 will be different. A new beginning and all that but it wasn’t. I even had a huge reading slump on the month of March. So many wasted time not reading.😧

Though I planned to read lots of books this year, my start isn’t that promising. With my ambitious plan to read 100+ books this year, I merely managed to read 7 books in 3 months.😭

Here are the books that I have read:

1.) Keeper of the Lost Cities by by Shannon Messenger – 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

2.) Soulkeepers by Steve Dean – 🌟🌟🌟.5

3.) The Happy List by Briar Prescott – 🌟🌟🌟🌟

4.) Until I Die Again by Tina Wainscott – 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

5.) You’re The One by Layla Hagen – 🌟🌟🌟🌟

6.) Love At First Kiss by Olivia T. Turner – 🌟🌟🌟.5

7.) Fat Chance, Charlie Vega by Crystal Maldonado – 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

I will work read harder this April. Shall I join some readathon to motivate myself?πŸ€”

Wishing everyone a great reading week!πŸ˜„

πŸŽ‰My 2020 Reading HighlightsπŸŽ‰

Hi.πŸ€—

How do I start this post? 2020 definitely is a year that I will never forget. I thought pandemic will remain as a second hand knowledge to me. Those of which I only read on books and watch on movies. But here we are now after experiencing a year (or more) of a life during pandemic.

I will not dwell on the negatives of the previous year on this post, instead I will try to list down things that somehow made my 2020 bearable or new or a bit something happy.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

1.) I managed to read 89 books last year. 😊

2.) I was able to review ALL the books I have read last year. Though by the time I managed to finish my pending reviews, it’s already the 24th of January 2021.πŸ˜…

SOMETHING NEW:

1.) After years of contemplating if I should do it, last year I finally decided to try out ARCs. I don’t know what I was doing but I still went and created an account on NetGalley, Edelweiss and BookSirens.

I watched and read tips before requesting but I still ended up biting more than I can chew, lol. It was a fun thing though a bit stressful at first.πŸ˜…

2.) Last year I tried widening my horizon by trying out genres I don’t usually pick. There were some misses (I expected that) but I actually discovered my love for Women’s Fiction. It was a huge surprise for me that I will like this genre. So now I have a new genre to choose books from.😁

PLANS FOR 2021:

1.) I will try to finish all my ARCs on time and clean up my backlist ARCs.

2.) I was hoping I can read 100+ books this year. I was able to do that on 2017 but since then I haven’t reached 3 digits for my reading goal.

3.) I kept on buying/downloading books from Kindle store and I have 300+ of ebooks unread as of this post. I was hoping to make a dent on it this year. I should probably need to stop browsing for free ebooks on the Kindle store. πŸ˜…

4.) I will try out more genres this year. I’m a bit hesitant about this but I will try my best.

5.) I will post more on this blog and not just book reviews. I will join in on the usual daily/weekly memes.πŸ˜‰

6.) I’ll also do blog hopping more and comments and likes on blog posts.

For now, this is it! My goals for 2021 is a bit ambitious but 2021 here I come! πŸ˜†

October 2020 Wrap Up

October is done again and today is the first of November. October was a very stressful month for me. I don’t even know why I’m stressed out, lol. I had a bit of a reading slump on the third week of October. I learned from my previous experiences and just let it be. I immersed myself in mobile games and waited it out until I’m ready to read again. πŸ™‚

Despite the said slump I still managed to read some of my ARCs this month. Below are the books I have read, all images credits to Goodreads:

September 2020 TBR

Hello friends! Hello September! πŸ˜€

This month is when I’ll try to catch up with the ARCs that I have. I was hoping by October, ARCs will no longer dictate my reading time. But for now, I’ll deal with my ARCs and besides there is certainly a reason why I requested/downloaded these books. So below are the books that I need to read this month:

*September ARCs:

1.) The Bookweaver’s Daughter – I’m currently reading this one but feeling a bit disconnected with the story.

2.) Firefrost – YA fantasy

3.) A Borrowed Life – Women’s Fiction, Romance

*October 6 ARCs :

4.) Gatekeeper – Fantasy

5.) Forget This Ever Happened – Young Adult, Science Fiction, Thriller

6.) Forgetting You – Contemporary, Romance

*all images credits to Goodreads

I hope I can finish these six books this month. Wish me luck! πŸ˜€

So what are your plans for September? πŸ™‚

August 2020 Wrap Up

Hi! I managed to finish 7 books for the month of August. πŸ˜€

Most of my reads are ARCs and translated Chinese web novels. Instead of reading ARCs or books on my shelf, I ended up enjoying lots of web novels this month. πŸ˜†

I’ll try to group the books as I see fit but don’t quote me on the grouping and label/s, it’s just how I see them. πŸ˜†

I’m just glad it’s done. It’s already September, that means CHRISTMAS!!! πŸ˜€

July 2020 Wrap Up

Hi! I managed to finish 9 books for the month of July. πŸ˜€

Most of my reads are ARCs from NetGalley and Edelweiss. I think scheduling my reads helped me managed my reading schedule for this month. I’m happy that I’m reading lots of books per month (on my standard). I used to average 10 books a month but one day I’ll reach that again. πŸ˜€

Okay, so on to my books for this month. I’ll try to group them as I see fit but don’t quote me on the grouping and label/s, it’s just how I see them. πŸ˜†
