Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Facts About Me

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

The topic for the week is Ten Facts About Me. I was hesitant to do this but I had fun doing my list so, here goes:

1.) I have the worst sense of direction ever, lol. I always travel with someone so that I won’t get lost.

2.) I have a bit of OCD-ish tendencies. I’m crazy with locks. I need to check at least thrice that it’s locked before I’m satisfied😛

3.) When I was in college, my classmates always thought I’m a freshman – every single year. I’m 4’11” (just one more inch).😣

4.) I love reading mangas and watching animé. When I’m in a reading slump, they’re my life savers..👍

5.) My favorite food and drinks’
– pesto, burger, pizza, chocolates
– anything potato: french fries, boiled potato, mashed potato…
– mango, melon
– soda, fruit shakes

6.) I have this unusual obsession with buying new notebooks. I have a lot and majority of them are still unused.

7.) Cooking and gardening are things I wish to do given a chance and free time.

8.) I love stories about princes, princesses, kings, queens and other royalties out there. Some of the books with this concept almost have the same premise but I really LOVE them.😍

9.) I don’t read or watch anything HORROR. I’m a scaredy cat. I just can’t stand them.👻

10.) Places I want to visit:
– Japan, Paris, New York, Italy, Egypt, New Zealand

🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
It feels weird to talk about myself😸

Anyway, happy Tuesdays.🙋

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books I’m Psyching Myself Up To Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

This week is a free topic week.🙋 After some thinking, I settled for “Ten Books I’m Psyching Myself Up To Read”. These are books that I badly want to read but can’t because of a lot of petty reasons, lol.😁

I thought that maybe, if I put them up in a post, I’ll be more psyched up  to read them..😛

image

Here comes my list:

1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

image

I have a feeling that I already started reading this way, way back and wasn’t able to finish it. I’m not a fan of classics but after blogging for some time I kind of see a lot of PrideAndPrejudice references and boy, I CAN’T RELATE. Lol.😁

I need to read this ASAP! 👊

2. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

image

This was recommended by Raven/Beez to me long before the release of The Raven King. I honestly don’t know what’s stopping me from reading this book. The premise is a surefire hooker but I just can’t start it. I really want to start this book series and be in on the fun. I need a source of funsies..👌

3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer

image

This was a hyped up book series I’ve been seeing a lot since I started blogging. I mentioned before that I really really really love Cinderella retellings.💜

That’s why I don’t know what’s keeping me from starting the Lunar Chronicles. Maybe I’m scared of the hype? And it’s my first Marissa Meyer book. Maybe I’m scared. Gawd, I AM SCARED.😿

Be brave Angie. Be brave. *pats left shoulder repeatedly*😁

4. The King by J.R. Ward

image

I’m a total fan of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.👍 The King is the 12th installment of this series. I read the previous 11 and very much invested on the characters and the story. But upon knowing that this is Wrath’s story, I just can’t forced myself to read it. For me, his and Beth’s story ended on book one, they already have their happily ever after, so please don’t mess with it.😒

BUT I have to read this before continuing with the other books in the series. So, just read it girl!👊

5. The House of Hades by Rick Riordan

image

Another part of a well-loved series of mine. I stopped reading on The Mark of Athena (book 3) and at that time, I don’t have a copy of The House of Hades. I was distracted by other books and today I can’t remember much on the first three books. Just thinking of re-reading 3 books before finally reading this is a huge deterrent. BUT Trials of Apollo was already published, need to catch up!🙋

6. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

image

This was in my TBR for some time now and recently I just read some rave reviews for this book from Jill. The premise is interesting, not unique but I REALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE ALIENS. Lol.😁

It’s sort of a quintet I think. I only have the first book and I want to start reading this when I already have all the books on the series. Grow some money dear wallet!👌

7. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

image

How do I explain my relationship with this book? If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know that I DNF this book. As of now, I’m on Chapter 14. I crawled through the book in my attempt to finish it. I’m a bit OCD and I want to read a prequel series for this book which seem to have a better reaction from the blogosphere but I can’t until I’m done with TMI.😿

8. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

image

As you’ve read in #7, you’ve guessed right. This is the prequel for TMI that I want to read, like I want to read this soooo much…😭

But I can’t until I’m done with TMI because I’m weird that way. Lol.😁

9. Angelfall by Susan Ee

image

I’ve read rave reviews for this book. I like the blurb. I’m not that psyched to read this but I already have a copy of all the books on this trilogy, so I need to start this!👊

10. Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley

image

This is another case of “I’ve read the first few books but managed to get a copy after eon years so I can’t remember much and must read the previous ones to reconnect” kind of book. This is the finale on The Three trilogy. I remember enjoying the first two books sooo much but I only remember some details.😿

🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

This is my week’s TTT. Have you read the books on my post? Do you experience the same problems I have?😛

Share me your thoughts and if you have, your list on the comments. I’ll be happy to read them.🙋

Happy Tuesdays!😘

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Feel Differently About After Time Has Passed

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

This week’s topic is “Books I Feel Differently About After Time Has Passed”. Even if my TBR pile is overflowing, I still can’t help but do re-reads.😁 Despite that, I found it difficult to come up with my list for this week but I did it! Here’s my top 10 (though I counted some series as one):

1. Alex by Sawyer Bennett

image

1st impression: Not bad. But nothing special either.

Current stand: I recently added .5⭐on my rating for this book. That thing Alex did for Sutton at the end is LOVE.

2. Transcendence by Shay Savage

image

1st impression: I plowed through this book with gusto. It was amazing and I was totally hooked.

Current stand: I just realized the lack of dialogues on this book and is the more amazed on how on earth is this so good with a somewhat narrative format. I love it more!💜

3. Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley

image

1st impression: WOW! Where have you been all my life? I love, love this book!

Current stand: After reading the second book of this series, which I love better than Wildest Dreams, I realized that it’s not that great. I still love it because it made me hooked on this series but not like the first time.

4. The Diviners by Libba Bray

image

1st impression: I felt a lot of emotions and I was so into the book. The suspense and mystery is amazing.

Current stand: I can’t remember details about the book. Too many things happened and I only have a hazy idea about it. I can only remember the feelings I felt while reading this. I realized I like the plot better than the characters which is bad.

5. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins

image

1st impression: I love this book! So funny and the world building is spot on.

Current stand: When I re-read this, I realized how weird is the way they transfer powers.. And the world building is actually shaky. One star down for this.

6. Night World Series (1-9) by L. J. Smith

image

1st impression: Paranormal is love, love, love! The diversity of the characters in this world is amazing! Can’t wait for the last book!

Current stand: I’m not into paranormal at the moment. I waited YEARS for the ending of this book and sorry can’t wait anymore. I was so amazed of this world I was giddily waiting for the grand finale but NOTHING!😭 Now, I don’t care anymore.

7. Mara Dyer Series by Michelle Hodkin

image

1st impression: Wow. The mysteries in this book is so engaging. I love this book.

Current stand: The world/premise building is not great. So many loopholes that I didn’t see on my first read of this series. How did I finish this trilogy?

8. Off-Campus Series by Elle Kennedy

image

1st impression: I adore, love, am crazy, am obsess with these books! Give me more hockey players!🙌

Current stand: After reading a lot of hockey or sport related books, NOTHING can compare! These books are 💙gems💙!

9. Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

image

1st impression: This is my first ever vampire-human-love book and I LOVE IT! Edward is ❤! I love the Cullens! I love the war at the end. The ending is AMAZING!

Current stand: After reading a lot of books, I realized this series is not that great. When I re-read the whole series, I suddenly hated Bella and Jacob. Bella because she’s so… I don’t know, crazy? And Jacob is annoying with the love triangle and all. I HATE love triangles!

10. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

image

1st impression: WOW! Magical and sooooo amazing!💜 The characters, the plot, the world building are all SPOT ON! J. K. Rowling is the QUEEN!

Current stand:

“After all this time?”

ALWAYS.💜💜💜

That concludes my TTT. I was busy doing something that I was late posting.✌

This is what kept me busy:

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Picked Up On A Whim

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

It maybe Wednesday here but I really would like to do this meme, so I’m doing it, lol. This week’s topic are “Books I Picked Up On A Whim”. Here are my whimsical picks or reads:

image

– I got interested on this book because of the title and the author. I love Kirsty Moseley, so.. I read this book without knowing even the blurb of this book. And it was worth it.💜

image

– This is a complete cover pick. I don’t even know what it’s all about. It’s still on my TBR.

image

– I just finished The Diviners and I was looking for other books by Libba Bray and this caught my attention because of the cover. Looks contradictory and interesting.

image

– another cover pick and I heard it’s dystopian. I tried to read it and unfortunately, it ended up on my DNF pile. 😥

image

– I’ve seen a post about Black Dagger Brotherhood and decided to try it. Before I started to read this, all I know is that it’s about vampires. And boy was the world inside so surprising, staggering and engaging. This is one of my lucky whimsical reads.👍

image

– the title #Nerd got me and made me pick this one. When I learned the blurb on this book, I was glad I got this book. Upon reading it, I gave it 4⭐.

image

– I honestly don’t know why I added this on my TBR. I haven’t read it but I already own a copy.

image

– this is a cover pick and also I’ve been seeing it for some time on blog posts. I haven’t read it and I’m trying to avoid spoilers. I still don’t know what it’s all about. Hopefully I’ll be positively surprised.

image

– I am into Rick Riordan’s writing that I’m keeping tabs of his works. I thought that Percy Jackson is amazing so maybe The Red Pyramid is also amazing. Well, I guessed wrong. I kinda DNF this book.

image

– the cover seems promising. It has a “hacker vibe”, so I thought it would be cool. I don’t think I’ve read an E. C. Myers book but hopefully, it will be good.

Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I’d Love To Revisit As Adult

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

This week’s topic branched out to two interpretations (or more):
1. Characters you’d like to revisit when you’re a bit older (about 30 and above I think) and see if you’ll still love them and
2. Characters you’d like to revisit when the characters sort of grew and are already adults.

I’m a kid at heart so I’m not doing 1. I’m sure I’ll still love them even if I become old and wrinkly.😁

So, I’m choosing to name characters I would like to revisit when they’re already adults:

1. Harry Potter – How is Harry as a father? I would really love to meet him again and see how is he holding up with James, he seems to be a trouble maker. Lol. I want to see a different side of my favorite character. These are some of the questions I’ll ask him:
⚫What’s your current occupation? How’s the pay? (Nosy alert!😁)
⚫Are you planning for another kid?
⚫How’s Ginny as a wife?
⚫Who’s your favorite kid?

2. Hermione Granger – How’s the life of a mother in a magical world? I want to see how she interacts with her kids and with Ron. I want to know the difference between a young Hermione and a grown-up Hermione. These are my questions for her:
⚫Did you pursue a masterals degree?
⚫Are you strict with the kids’ studies?
⚫Are you strict with Ron on whatever?
⚫Are you planning for another kid?

3. Ronald Weasley – How is Ron as a father? I want to see how he interacts with his kids. What type of parenting will he use? What job does he have? Is Ron the head of the family? Or is it secretly Hermione? Lol. My questions:
⚫What’s your job?
⚫How do you bond with your kids?
⚫Have you spilled the fact that you cheated on your driver’s license test to Hermione yet?
⚫Is there a chance that you’ll dye your hair black?

4. Luna Lovegood – I love Luna. I want to know if she’ll change when she grows older. I want to know who she’ll end up with. Is she still as unique and eccentric upon reaching adulthood? I’ll ask her these:
⚫What’s your current job? Is it fun? Please listen. Focus Luna dear. *sigh*
⚫Are you in a relationship with someone at the moment? Who’s the lucky guy?
⚫How’s the Quibbler?
⚫How many kids would you like to have?

5. Draco Malfoy – I didn’t like him that much but I’m curious… Will I be allowed in their manor? Let’s just wing it. So here are my questions:
⚫Who’s your wife again?
⚫Will you allow your son to mingle with or befriend Harry’s or Ron’s kids?
⚫What’s your current occupation? Did your father put you into that position?
⚫Have you talked to Harry since the war?
⚫How do you feel that Neville is now a professor at Hogwarts?

6. George Weasley – I’m tearing up. *takes out handkerchief* Ok, let’s get this over with.
⚫How’s the business? Have you branched out yet?
⚫Do you have a girlfriend?
⚫Are you still staying on the shop or have you bought a new place?
⚫Do you have a mirror on your place? *cries hard*

7. Percy Jackson – this guy is adorable! I want to pinch his cheeks in person. How is he as a boyfriend or husband to Annabeth? I’m guessing they’ll end up with each other. These are my questions:
⚫How are you coping with Annabeth?
⚫What’s your current job Percy? Have you encountered a monster during work hours?
⚫How did you or how will you propose to Annabeth? Or did she propose already?
⚫Have you been to Olympus lately?
⚫How’s your mom? Does she still cook blue foods?

8. Annabeth Chase – Here’s a strong-willed girl for you. Sometimes I forget that she was a teenager during the war. I’m curious as to what she’s achieved through the years. Here’s my polite questions (I don’t want to be punched, thank you):
⚫Did you pursue Architecture?
⚫Did you propose to Percy yet?
⚫How’s your relationship with your father? Your stepmom and siblings?
⚫Have you been to Olympus after the war?
⚫Have you had contact with your mom as of late?

💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I can only come up with 8. As you can see majority is from the Harry Potter Wizarding World and from Percy Jackson and the Olympians Universe. I love these book series.

Feel free to comment and link your post on this week’s TTT.😁

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books That Will Make You Laugh

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

This week’s topic is Ten Books That Will Make You Laugh.

I love this week’s topic. I added a lot on my TBR while reading posts of other bloggers.❤

So here goes:

1. Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling

image

image from Google

– This is an amazing series and it has a lot of funny scenes. Also the characters are funny and weird in their own way. Special mentions are: Fred and George, Ron and Luna.❤

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

image

image from Google

– I love how Percy Jackson thinks. This book series made me appreciate Greek mythology. I used to avoid books with this kind of premise, gods and goddesses of Olympus but because of Percy, I learned to love them…

3. The Ugly Stepsister by Aya Ling

image

image from Google

– I just recently finished this book. It was hilarious. You can read my review here.

4. The Iron Trial by  Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

image

image from Google

– one of my recent reads too. Callum is funny and a bit sarcastic. The things that he did are hilarious. See my review here.

5. The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella

image

image from Google

– the mess that the main character is in is totally funny. The premise of the story is hilarious enough.

6. Playing For Keeps by R. L. Mathewson

image

image from Google

– I love Jason on this story. His obsession in food is endearing and funny. Add in his father who has the same obsession on food. Then his three kids, awwww.💜

7. Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

image

image from Google

– Mia’s way of thinking is funny. And the circumstances she was forced to face made me laugh a lot…

8. Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella

image

image from Google

– the unfortunate events and the secrets kept and blabbered are so funny it brought tears to my eyes. And it’s a nice read..

9. Haikyuu Manga

image

image from Google

– every character has their own quirks, add them all together and you end up with a funny, hilarious and perfectly imbalance volleyball team..

10. One Piece Manga

image

image from Google

– my favorite manga of all time.💜
A gluttonous simpleton captain, a swordsman with no sense of direction at all, a thief skilled on navigation, a playboy chef, a coward sniper, a naïve animal doctor, a compassionate cyborg pervert, a pessimist archeologist and a panty-loving skeleton musician. And you have the best pirate crew of all time: STRAWHAT PIRATES!💖

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books Every Adventurer Should Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.

This is my first ever Top Ten Tuesday post. I’m nervous…😁

It took me a while to think of my theme. I even considered:
⚫Ten Books Every Person Who Wants To Dive Into Another World Should Read
⚫Ten Books Every Person Who Wants To Be Transported To Another World Should Read
⚫Ten Books Every Person Who Wants To Be In Another World Should Read
… they are all too long and it took  some time for me to settle on adventurer.

In reading books, we undoubtedly go into adventure. The magic of books. They do say that books are portals to another world.

So here’s my list of books for fellow adventurers:

1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

image

Image from Google

– do I need to say why? I could totally live inside these books. I’ll be a witch and hangout with the Golden Trio. It would be fun to attend classes on Hogwarts, have a conversation with Luna and Ginny and maybe plan pranks with Fred and George. I will learn magic and meet amazing people. I’ll avoid Peeves at all cost. I’ll shake hands with Dumbledore. Ah, I totally love this world.💜

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

image

Image from Google

– imagine living in a world where you’re a demigod and you have powers(depends who your parents are) and the gods and goddesses of Olympus are real. There maybe monsters but you could totally defeat them. Going to Half-blood Camp and doing quests along the way with the help of friends and some magic-infused gifts. By the gods!

3. The Lion, The  Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

image

image from google

– that Wardrobe phenomena. I admit to being guilty of trying to prod one of our cabinets to see if Narnia will recognize me as daughter of Eve. I mean hello? I can totally rule Narnia.Lol. Even if animals speak and it’s a bit dangerous with wars and all, it will be fun to have even a glimpse of this magical world. Narnia, wait for me!

4. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

image

image from Google

– I first read this on first grade. I remember it being an illustrated version for kids. It was creepy. Just imagine embarking in a world with talking animals, with potions that shrinks and enlarges you. With cunning people trying to trick you. And see the title? My keyword is there: adventure.

5. Cinderella by Charles Perrault

image

image from Google

– I know what you’ll say. How can becoming a princess be an adventure? But the thing is my greatest ambition when I was a kid is to become a princess. Imagine being in a land where there’s royalty and then a royal ball! We don’t have royalties in our country (as far as I know) and I’ve never attended a ball (does JS prom counts?), so just imagine being in Cinderella’s shoes. For me, it would be an adventure.

6. The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot

image

Image from Google

– another Princess book but in a modern setting. Imagine being Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, a normal girl and then Princess the next day. I totally love this book. A teen-ager trying to learn to become the next ruler of Genovia. Go Princess!

7. Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley

image

Image from Google

– I would have recommended the whole series but I don’t recommend an adventure on The Golden Dynasty (2nd book) because of the savageness. Nope, not gonna send anyone there. In this parallel world where magic is abundant, wars, royalties, witches, creatures unheard of and the ability to understand animals, anyone would have an adventure of a lifetime. Did I mention dragons and elves? Yep, and wolves too. Let’s go ask Valentine to transport us, but you need to pay. She accepts diamonds.😁

8. The Host by Stephenie Meyer

image

Image from Google

– alien abductions anyone? It would be frightening but still an adventure. In a world where you can’t trust anyone unless you kinda check their eyes. Trying to steal goods without being seen and defending your base from highly intelligent enemies. The adrenaline! But maybe you’ll find some friendly aliens too. Go Wanda!

I haven’t read the last two on my list but surely being thrust into any of these books would be an adventure.

9. The Lord of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

image

Image from Google

10.  Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

image

Image from Google

That’s it. 😁
