My Book Moments For This Week (April23-30)

✳ Moment#1: I saw THE END.✳

– “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” aptly describes R.L.Mathewson’s Tall, Dark and Lonely. I didn’t expect for the book to go paranormal onΒ  me. It was unexpectedly an awesome read, I’m giving it 4 stars. The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton and Alex by Sawyer Bennett are both sport-related-romances. I was looking for something similar or better than Off-Campus, maybe because of my biases I didn’t enjoy these books that much, so I’m giving them 3 stars.

✳ Moment#2: We meet again.✳

image

– I re-read #Nerd and still found it cute and sweet. I’m a sucker for this kind of story. The “nerd meets jock, then jock pursues nerd” kind of trope. *swoon*

✳ Moment#3: I can’t believe I forgot your existenceS. ✳

image

– these are the books that made me go “oh! I’ve read this already!”
1. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
2. The Time Machine by H.G. Wells
3. Replay by Ken Grimwood

✳ Moment#4: Jump off a cliff.✳

image

– Have I mentioned I HATE cliffhangers? Well, I hate cliffhangers. I’m aware that Tandem and Room For You are part of a series but I was expecting that they can be read as stand-alones or at least have a semblance of an ending. Tandem by Anna Jarzab is quite good for a science fiction multiverse kind of book. There are confusing tidbits but still amazing. The ending is a “WHAT? THAT’S IT?” kind of feeling. Ergo, I’m giving it 4 stars. Room for you by Beth Ehemann is somewhat a typical famous-commoner kind of love story. I thought it was all good and then the ending (or was it in the epilogue?) kind of a “HUH? SAY WHAT?” feeling and so I’m giving it 3 stars.

✳ Moment#5: Finally.✳

image

– Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec was a former part of my DNF pile. The reason that I struggled on reading this is because of TOO MUCH SASS. I love sassy characters but if every little thing is “sassed” on, it’s tiring. I skip a lot of parts because IT’S JUST TOO MUCH. The only redeeming character here is the kid. I’m giving it 3 stars because of the cute kid, and I’m so nice. Lol.

✳ Moment#5: Pile them all up.✳

  1. Good reviews. I just finished Magnus Chase and am half way through The Martian right now. I don’t want to bias your reviews so I won’t say anything about them. I’ll be back to see what you think. I’ll be reviewing them myself very soon.
