Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly featureΒ created and hosted byΒ The Broke and the Bookish, in which we all talk about a bookish topic and have fun making lists.
This week is a free topic week.🙋 After some thinking, I settled for “Ten Books I’m Psyching Myself Up To Read”. These are books that I badly want to read but can’t because of a lot of petty reasons, lol.😁
I thought that maybe, if I put them up in a post, I’ll be more psyched up to read them..😛
Here comes my list:
1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I have a feeling that I already started reading this way, way back and wasn’t able to finish it. I’m not a fan of classics but after blogging for some time I kind of see a lot of PrideAndPrejudice references and boy, I CAN’T RELATE. Lol.😁
I need to read this ASAP! 👊
2. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
This was recommended by Raven/Beez to me long before the release of The Raven King. I honestly don’t know what’s stopping me from reading this book. The premise is a surefire hooker but I just can’t start it. I really want to start this book series and be in on the fun. I need a source of funsies..👌
3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
This was a hyped up book series I’ve been seeing a lot since I started blogging. I mentioned before that I really really really love Cinderella retellings.💜
That’s why I don’t know what’s keeping me from starting the Lunar Chronicles. Maybe I’m scared of the hype? And it’s my first Marissa Meyer book. Maybe I’m scared. Gawd, I AM SCARED.😿
Be brave Angie. Be brave. *pats left shoulder repeatedly*😁
4. The King by J.R. Ward
I’m a total fan of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.👍 The King is the 12th installment of this series. I read the previous 11 and very much invested on the characters and the story. But upon knowing that this is Wrath’s story, I just can’t forced myself to read it. For me, his and Beth’s story ended on book one, they already have their happily ever after, so please don’t mess with it.😒
BUT I have to read this before continuing with the other books in the series. So, just read it girl!👊
5. The House of Hades by Rick Riordan
Another part of a well-loved series of mine. I stopped reading on The Mark of Athena (book 3) and at that time, I don’t have a copy of The House of Hades. I was distracted by other books and today I can’t remember much on the first three books. Just thinking of re-reading 3 books before finally reading this is a huge deterrent. BUT Trials of Apollo was already published, need to catch up!🙋
6. Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
This was in my TBR for some time now and recently I just read some rave reviews for this book from Jill. The premise is interesting, not unique but I REALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE ALIENS. Lol.😁
It’s sort of a quintet I think. I only have the first book and I want to start reading this when I already have all the books on the series. Grow some money dear wallet!👌
7. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
How do I explain my relationship with this book? If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know that I DNF this book. As of now, I’m on Chapter 14. I crawled through the book in my attempt to finish it. I’m a bit OCD and I want to read a prequel series for this book which seem to have a better reaction from the blogosphere but I can’t until I’m done with TMI.😿
8. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
As you’ve read in #7, you’ve guessed right. This is the prequel for TMI that I want to read, like I want to read this soooo much…😭
But I can’t until I’m done with TMI because I’m weird that way. Lol.😁
9. Angelfall by Susan Ee
I’ve read rave reviews for this book. I like the blurb. I’m not that psyched to read this but I already have a copy of all the books on this trilogy, so I need to start this!👊
10. Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley
This is another case of “I’ve read the first few books but managed to get a copy after eon years so I can’t remember much and must read the previous ones to reconnect” kind of book. This is the finale on The Three trilogy. I remember enjoying the first two books sooo much but I only remember some details.😿
🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
This is my week’s TTT. Have you read the books on my post? Do you experience the same problems I have?😛
Share me your thoughts and if you have, your list on the comments. I’ll be happy to read them.🙋
Happy Tuesdays!😘

Oh you definitely need to read The Infernal Devices before The Mortal Instruments, at least before starting book 5 of TMI series otherwise a looot of things might be spoiled and you can enjoy it more like that! Well if you decide to read it because I love TMI to death! Cinder was a great read for me, I hope you like it as well! But unfortunately The Raven Boys was a dnf for me. But read all these books only when you really want to, if you force it you might end up disliking them more. Nonetheless great post!

I think I might do this “psyching up” thing subconsciously. Like watching more crime television to lead into my eventual series binge of I Hunt Killers.
Cheers,

I had to convince myself to read Cinder too. After all, a cyborg mechanic cinderall sounded too weird. But it was awesome! I loved it!

The cyborg mechanic Cinderella seems weird to me too.. One of the reasons I can’t start Cinder…πΏ
But a lot of people says that it’s awesome. Hopefully. I will be able to start reading this on July.π

True…π I think a spin-off of The Black Dagger Brotherhood touches some of the previous pairs’ story, that’s why I’m not touching them.. Lol.π
Heading to your post now…πΈ

A few of these (The Raven Cycle, TMI, Cinder) are series I’ve really been meaning to read too. I cheated and read The Infernal Devices before I read TMI haha I really liked those books, especially the steampunk elements.

One day, I’ll be able to read all of them.π

I am also psyching myself up for Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre before 2016. I am so intimidated by the classics. Great list. I hope that you will be able to read some of these titles.

I’ve read all of the lux series besides from the last one because I’ve forgotten the story and plan to re read them before finishing the series βΊοΈ
